Charlotte Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for a part-time Director.
The Chamber Director will be responsible for development, conduct, execution, documentation and coordination of activities within the scope of service to the membership and coordination of events and communications. The Director shall be the chief administrative officer and membership development director of the organization.
Will manage reception operations, ensure exceptional membership services and recruitment, and oversee digital communications platforms (website, e-communications, and social media). The Director, as the principal on-site staff person, will be responsible for the coordinating of volunteers, as well as representing the Chamber regionally and nationally as appropriate.
In addition, the Director should help guide the organization as its objectives evolve. Applicants should have education and/or professional experience in one or more of the following areas: strong public relations, marketing, design, volunteer management, nonprofit management, business development, and office administration. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Applicants must also be entrepreneurial, energetic, imaginative, well organized and capable of functioning effectively in an independent environment. Supervisory skills are desirable. Past experience in developing trusted stakeholder relationships and working with boards is key. Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential.
