Many Points of Pride in Charlotte
Courthouse Square Association has developed into a premier museum that has helped to preserve the heritage of Eaton County. In cooperation with City of Charlotte Development Department, The Square hosts Thursday night outdoor concerts in July and August. These weekly concerts have become very popular with Charlotte residents and visitors. I encourage you to tour the Courthouse and explore the rich history of Charlotte.
Growth, Collaboration & Promotion
The Charlotte Chamber of Commerce has invested in your business and it’s future. There is a significant recognition that comes from being a member. This helps to show that your business supports the community. In addition to this the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce offers many networking opportunities. These come from events like Celebrate Charlotte, Business After Hours and our Annual Dinner.
One of the most influential benefits is the ability to be more involved in our community. With this involvement and the networking opportunities there is a great response of growth and promotion.
MEMBER OF THE MONTH HIGHLIGHT:
GFWC: General Federation of Women’s Clubs- Charlotte
GFWC was founded in 1887 by an amazing group of women. The objective of this club is to promote growth and general advancement of women by providing programs pertaining to literature, science, art, and public interest and to promote lines of public welfare in the community of Charlotte. Their community service program span all areas of the lives of the members, their families and the community.
Some of the community outreach programs the GFWC provides include the Siren Holiday Tea, which helps support the Siren shelters in our community. Hand-to-Hand is a program that helps in providing care to community members by helping with transportation or preparing meals for those who may go without. Community arts and beautification programs, including planting the wonderful flowers in our downtown area, help provide an inviting experience for residents and visitors alike.
